IMPUDENT FRAUDS. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 27. John Lennox, aged 58, a plumber, was committed for sentence to-day on several charges of false pretences. Evidence was given that the accused went to various tradesmen and represented that he was McDonald, a builder of Wellington, or a successful bush contractor. lie then ordered and received clothes for himself, besides watches and chains, while for his .“wife” lie obtained boots and shoes. The frauds were most impudent ones, and accused’s effrontery deceived all.
