WORSE TO COME. *T OABTi*—PRIKS ABBOOTATION—COPYRIGHT MELBOURNE, Aug. 27. The Yarra is still in high flood. Large areas of the low-lying suburbs are under water, to a more or less extent. Many families have been compelled to leave their homes. The damage is heavy. Many districts in the country also report that floods have done considerable damage. Received Aug. 28, 9.55 a.m.

MELBOURNE, Aug. 28 Between 800 and 1000 settlers are affected by the floods in the Kooweerup district, and over 250 squaire miles are inundated. - Fears are expressed that when the bulk of the flood waters reach the lower levels near Dalmore the position will be more serious.

A message from Albury says that the floods there are the highest for some years. The low-lying country flooded in three hours and the river is still rising.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
