MELBOURNE, Aug. 27. The Federal Government has appointed Judge Edwards as a Royal Commission to inquire into Mr. F. G. Scullins’ with reference to land taxes. ' TAXING MOTOR VEHICLES. Received Aug 28,. 9.55 a.m. SYDNEY, Aug. 28. Cabinet has decided to increase the taxation on motor vehicles, the tax to be- applied according to the weight of the vehicle. The Government anticipates that an additional £141.000 will be raised annually, bringing the taxation of motor vehicles of all classes to £400,000 per annum.
