SCOUTS DANCE.
A very well attended “scouts’’ fancy dress ball was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall last night. The floor was occupied from 7 o’clock till 9 by the .children and members of the two Eltham troupes of Scouts, mostly in fancy .costume. Prizes wiS're given for the best fancy dress for both the girls’ and boys’ sections. The girls’ section was v r on by Paty Stewart (Early Victorian) and Helen Stewart was second (a sandman). The boys’ section was won by Douglas Stewart (cowboy). Miss Marjory Volski was the winner of the most original costume (Chinaman). Mr. C. Maslin. and Mr. W. S. Heyes acted as judges. The captain of the Girl Guides was mainly responsible for the arrangements, and her efforts to make the function a success were undoubtedly rewarded.
I' rom 9 o’clock the floor was given over to the adults, who entered into the evening’s enjoyment with evident pleasure.
