BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT MELBOURNE, Aug. 25. Another sensational daylight robbery occurred at the Essendon branch of the English, Scottish and Australian Bank to-day. After closing at 3 o’clock a clerk named Robson was making up the accounts when two masked men entered, covered him with a revolver, and,bound and gagged him. They secured £4OO in notes, • and escaped in a car waiting outside.

A girl, who had previously noticed the men waiting round the ” vicinity, saw them rush out. She went to the door of the bank, but found it locked. Through the keyhole she saw Hobson bound. When help came it was discovered that he was so tightly trussed that the ropes cut into his flesh, and he was almost suffocated by the gag.
