Country, played on Saturday, was characterised by extraordinary casualties, five men leaving the field. All were prae'tTcaHy certainties for the Seddoii Shield and tonring teams, and are not now available. J. Corry and J. Hounsell were sent to hospital. The former dislocated a shoulder and the latter split a collarbone. ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL. * BRITISH TEAM DEFEATS CANADA. Received Aug. 25. 10.25 a.m. VANCOUVER. Aug. 23.
