DECISION BY DENMARK. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. COPENHAGEN, Aug. 22. Plans submitted by the Minister for Defence for the abolition of the Danish Navy have been approved by the Government, and a Bill for that purpose nil] be presented to Parliament. It is proposed to convert eight small vessels into a police guard and fishing inspection ships, and 12 hydroplanes' swill 5 will be retained for civil duties. The whole of the naval personnel will be disbanded, except 443 required to man the converted vessels. The Danish Ministry is Socialistic, occupying a minority position in Parliament similar to Mr MacDonald’s in Britain.—Ans.N.Z. Cable Assn.
