SUPREME COURT.

TARANAKI SESSIONS. Judgment for the defendant, with costs on tne lowest scale, was given by the. Chief Justice- (Sir Iloheirt Stout) in the Supreme Court at New Plymouth yesterday in the action brought by the Union Rank of Australia, New Flymouth, against F. R. Bredow, fanner, Douglas, for the recovery of £.‘J2 2s 2d on the grounds of alleged fraudulent misrepresentation.

■ APPLICATION FOR NEW TRIAL. Decision was reserved by His Honor with respect to tne application made by Mr L. M. Moss on Deliair of Joseph .Sherlock McConkey for a new trial in the action brought by him against Frank Brady for £4OO damages for alleged fraudulent misrepresentation. Tne jury awarded £25 damages, and it was submitted by Mr Moss that in view of the fact that they had found that defendant had made a false -representation with respect to the turnover of Ins business, Everybody's Sweets Shop, New Plymouth, this sum was inadequate. DIVORCE CASES. Failure to comply with an ordpr for tjie restitution of conjugal rights was the grounds on which Frederick Clinton Williams, railway employee, New Plymouth, was granted a decree nisi against his wife, Gertrude Williams, The order was made at New Plymouth in May last. The decree is to be made absolute in three months’ time. Rov Clayton Boulton, New Plymouth, was granted a decree nisi against his wife, lvv Ida C. Boulton, on the grounds of separation. The parties were married in November, 1920, at New Plymouth, where they lived until January, 1921, when- the respondent, the petitioner, said, commenced to drink, the outcome being an agreement to separate. There were no children of the marriage. The decree is to he made absolute after three months have expired. Decrees nisi were made absolute in the following cases: Willie Starkey v. Nora Mary Starkey; Florence Ann Sharp v. Stanley Robert Sharp; Leslie Gordon Goldsworthy v. G. S. A. Goldsworthy ; Neils A. Christiansen v. Isabella M. Christiansen. BANKRUPTS DISCHARGED.

Discharges in bankruptcy were'granted to Arthur George Marsom, farmer, Strathmore; Thomas Waite, farmer, Stratford ; Samuel Julian farmer, Tariki; Robert Whale, vulcanizer, New Plymouth; John Win, Turnbull, aucttioneer, Haweirn ; Leong Ting, fruiterer, Hamilton, formerly of New Plymouth, discharge to date from November 17;
