SENTENCES IMPOSED. (BY TELKGRArH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 20. At the Supreme Court this morning prisoners were sentenced as follows: Thomas Moody, breaking and entering and theft, three years’ imprisonment and declared an habitual criminal; James Joseph Boyce, similar offence, to three years’ reformative ; Walter John Chamberlain, indecent assault on a, woman, seven years’ imprisonment, Judge Adams remarking that he would imoose exemnlarv punishment. Other prisoners sentenced were Samuel McDonald, theft from a countryman, who was taken to a “bach” and doped, t\vo years’ gaol; Minnie Brown, theft of £l9 from a man, three years’ lef drmative treatment; Wilfred Roland Vid lev, forgery and uttering, three years’ gaol ancl two years’ reformative ti eatment; Owen Patrick Brosnalian, theft of a fur coat valued at £44, two years’ gaol and declared an habitual criminal. WELLINGTON SESSIONS. WELLINGTON, Aug. 20. At the Supreme Court Ralfo Antonovitch, found guilty earlier in the week of receiving- stolen goods, was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment, ihe Judge said that prisoner had a record, and there seemed to be pood reason to believe that he had made a practice of inducing other men into paths of dishonesty. AUCKLAND SESSIONS. AUCKLAND, Aug. 20 At the Supreme Court, Theo Walters, .or theft and false pretences, was sentenced to six months; Laurence Manl 1 } 11 *’’. 01 " fhelt from a dwelling at Momnsville, was sentenced to 12 months; John Graham., broking <uu] ; Paeroa, to six months; William Grattan Robinson, recentn<>stolen property at Paeroa. from Grabam six months; William Henrv McCord, breaking, entering and theft, two years’ reformatory treatment; Norman Leonard Findlay, false pretences at Hamilton, two years; Alfred Arnould Lpman. aged 16, theft of postal packets at Paeroa. two years’ reformative treatment.
