Jawala and Sunni, two Indians who recently had a four hours’ wrestling bout without a decision, broke their record last night, when, after four and a half hours, the referee announced a draw. STUDENTS’ RELIEF FUND. PAHIATUA, Aug. 20. The scholars in the secondary department of the Paliiatua school have inaugurated a scheme for devoting Saturday earnings, preferably during August, from gardening, planting, and domestic work, to assist the European students’ relief fund. AY ELLINGTON WOOLLEN CO. WELLINGTON, Aug. 19. The Wellington Woollen Company’s gross profit for the past year was £71,176, and the nett profit £31,585. A further dividend of six per cent is to be paid. SUDDEN DEATH AT RAETIHI. RAETIHI, Aug. 19. A man named J. Hill, about 45 years of age. was found dead in Ameku'road last evening. He was returning from work at wood cutting. At the inquest, held last night, a verdict was returned to the effect that death was due to natural causes. The deceased had been in the district some time, and last season was engaged in wool classing. He came here from Wanganui, and had relatives in Palmerston North.
