WORLD FLIGHT
AMERICAN A TTEMPT.' BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. WASHINGTON, Aug. IS. Authority for Lieutenant Locatelli to accompany the United States world fliers from Reykjavik, Iceland, to Greenland has been given by the chief of the air service, provided that the commander of the United States aviators is satisfied that the Italian ’plane will not endanger the success of the flight.
Plans are being made to re-fuel the fliers at sea if necessary in the long hop to Fredereikedal, Greenland, of 825 miles. Nearer landing places have been abandoned owing to ice. The proposed flight will require twelve hours in (he air. Every confidence is expressed that the jump will be made safely.
