WOMEN TEACHERS.
THE SALARY QUESTION. (by TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION ) WELLINGTON, Aug. 19. A mass meeting of women teachers was held to-day to protest against the differentiation between the salaries of men and women. A resolution was passed protesting against the situation created by such schemes, in that they give rise to great discontent, and that any scheme should be without question just, fair, and equitable to all sections. . was j stated that the principle of clmeientiation was grossly unfair to women teachers and contrary to the grading m efficiency. While salaries were based on this scheme there was grave discontent and unrest amon-r women of the teaching profession. It was decided to urge the executive of the institute to demand in the meantime the retiirlT to the 1923 scale of salaries.
PAHIATUA, Aug. 20. -I he women teachers in Pahiatua and Jiiketahuna district held a mass meetwg, and various resolutions of protest were passed in connection with the new salary schedule.
