FRUIT AND VEGETABLE PORTERS BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION-COPYRIGHT . LONDON, Aug. 18. The strike of Covent Garden fruit and vegetable porters threatens to become nation-wide, owing to the action of the Transport Workers’ Union in telegraphing the dockers at all ports to refrain from handling goods destined for Covent Garden.
