*- DR. ABRAMS’ THEORY. ELECTRONS IN BLOOD. Cauij*'—PJtf.Hf YwiooivriOft—oupkaiwH'J NEW YORK, Aug. 19. The electronic reactions theory of the late Dr. of San Francisco, is pronounced unfounded in a report of a special investigating committee of the journal The Scientific American, following a year of inquiry. Dr. Abrams, who several years ago announced that electrons formed the bases of life and the foundation of health, died in January last, and left an estate of between two and five million dollars. •Dr. Abrams contended that a drop* of blood contains millions of electrons, which reflected many characters of a person. By the use of an instrument called a reflexophone he claimed he could detect cancer, The diagnosis of a drop of blood, he contended, would reveal not only the presence of disease, if any, but also tfye age of a person, the race, the religion, and the probable length of life.
It was Dr. Abrams’ theory that after disease was detected by his method a cure could be effected by means of an oscillocast, which used electric waves to offset other waves within the body. He had many followers, his theory being supported by. some prominent men, although denounced by the American Medical Association.
There are at least thirty-five hundred recorded Abrams electron practitioners. As prospective patients were invited to send drops of their blood for analysis a great mail order business was built up by the Abrams followers.
