FIRES.

AT WOGLSTON TANNERIES. THIRD THIS YEAR. (BY TELEGKAPH —FKEBS ASSOCIATION.’) CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. ,9. A fire to-night destroyed the fellmongery cropp shed and the tan bark shed at the Woolston tanneries, it being the third fire this year, the previous outbreaks being in January and April. Large quantities of glucose, oil, skins, wool, and other commodities were lost. The only part of the huge premises now not touched by fire are the glove and hide departmnets. Since the previous outbreaks the existing buildings have been used for storage purposes, and at present it is not possible to say accurately what has been destroyed. The insurances amount to a Large sum, but they were not available at a late hour to-night. THE AUCKLAND BLAZE. AUCKLAND, Aug. 19. Wright’s fire insurances are: o*n the building, a total of £21,200, comprising £12,000 in the New. Zealand office, £6500 in the United, £2OOO in the Sun, £7OO in the London and Lancashire office in respect of rent.
