BRITISH EXHIBITION.

CO ALAI ENTS BY A NEW ZEALANDER. A New Zealander writes as follows of the British Exhibition: “It is great. I was out "there last week (the last week of (Tune). It is quite complete now, and presents a. wonderful sight. Canada has a very fine exhibit, easily the best. Australia is also very good. New Zealand’s exhibit has improved very much since the opening, hut still it does not do justice to New Zealand. The butter exhibit is indeed very good. Everything is frozen. There is a cow made of butter in one part. It is very fine and attracts good crowds, but somehow there is not the organisation that Canada has. For instance, go into Canada, and there is somebody in charge of every, exhibit, and they explain all they know and give you general information about Canada. Real.lv interesting, and am going back. They also give you little handbooks which are most- interesting. Then one goes into New Zealand and wanders round. Nobody- sav’s ‘boo’ to you, and y-ou come out and say ‘I saw a cow made of butter and a lot of meat.’ Perhaps some people don’t remember where they saw ? t -. There is something lacking, and it is very annoying. The moving pictures a.re splendid, I am told. T went tiwee to see them, but they were not showing. They are advertised to show at certain hours, hut there is nothing doing when the time comes Then there is a book for New Zealand visitors to sign. I asked to see it, hut was told to come back later. T .was disgusted, and did not return. I most certainly would not advise any friends of mine to go near the place. It is not a credit to New Zealand—fa ir from at' * read where Air Alassey advised New Zealand people to .urge their friends to see the New Zealand Pavilion; but it would certainly nut them oiF. Canada has the right style \fter seeing the Canadaian exhibit one really feels like going to see the country So much for that. Every New Zealander I have met is of the same opinion.”
