A MYSTERY.
TRAGIC END FEARED. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION ) INVERCARGILL, Aug. 15. The mysterious disappearance of Alfred Croft, a farmer occupying a bush section at Chaslands, is exciting deep interest. He has not been seen since July 16, when he parted from a neighbour. Food on liis table in his hut was undisturbed and an axe was missing. He is known to have drawn money from a bank. Search parties have scoured the district fruitlessly, and it is feared that Croft has met a tragic end.
