International Exhibition

HAWKE'S ;BAY EXHIBIT,

Mr E. Basil-Jones, the representative of the Hawke's Bay Court at the International Exhibition is at present making arrangements for the Hawke's Bay exhibit. There will be about twenty exhibitors representing wool, grain, seeds, and horticultural exhibits (including trees, plants, etc.) Mr Thomaa Horton, of Pahiatua and Hastings, will have charge of the latter. This gentlemen has some forty or fifty acres in nursery. It is his intention to have exhibits of deciduous and coniferous, hothouse and hardy plants. A house will be built lor the display of the exhihits. As the summer comes on, the exhibit will be changed into a flower and fruit exhibit, which should prove very effective. The butter factories of the district will be represented in one comprehensive exhibit. Another interesting exhibit of local industry will be wines from Frimley, Te Mata, Greenmeadows, and Meanee. These will consist principally of rliy wines such as clarets, hocks, etc. The plumbing and building industries of Dannevirke and Hastings will also be represented. Canned meats of all descriptions will be sent from Messrs Nelson Bros' Factory, Tomoana. Beer will come from the White Swan Brewery. The canned fruit and jam industry, which has grown to a large extent at Frimley will occupy some twenty-live feet of space. The exhibits will include all kinds cf fruits for pie and dessert- purposes. Vegetables in the shape of tomatoes, green peas, etc., will also be exhibited.

The t»tal space which will bo occupied by the Hawke's l>ay District C«urt will be 100 ft x 2oft. The Court is located facing the corridor opening on to the conceit liall. A start will be made as early as possible, the goods arriving early next month.
