Case of Suicide

(Per Press Association). Auckland, September 17 What appear* to be a case of suicide occurred late last night. A fireman, while proceeding to his vessel, found a coat on the footpath between No 2 and \ jNo 3 jetties. In one of the pockets a note was found stating that the owner was tired of life, and had committed suicide by jumping off the wharf into the harbour. Tho writer added that « he was 20 years of age, and gave his name, which at present has not been disclosed. A search was made by the police, but they were unable to find any trace of the body. The tide was going out fast, which made the search difficult. Later The letter found in the pocket of the man supposed to be drowned was signed Edward Deering, who described himself as aged 20 and tired of life. He made reference to a certain young j woman.
