Arthur Elliott moved! tnat the club decline to nominate 36 representatives on the Liberal Unionise Council, as the council would ds certain to be used to adwbnca Mr Chamtterlain's policy. The motiM was rejected by 108 votes to 64. whieretrpcn the minority, including the Chairman, withdrew, and formed a freah organisation called the Unionist Freetrade Club.
