I aways thought Iris was that connection to the son of Maxim. Hazel has produced a filly to St Leger. Dan O'Brien intends sending Loyalty and the Carbine colt Cartridge to England for sale shortly. Westmere has retired from the turf and is for sale. He should make a good sire. Euroclydon and Fabulist are first favorites for the New Zealand Cup. Three Star is again on the sick list. " Hotspur' preferred Donald" McKinnon to Mutiny in the Grand National Steeplechase. Magazine's win at Riccarton on Saturday came as a big surprise, as late reports mentioned him as a failure over sticks. Raugipunehu, had he been in form, must have won the Final Hurdles. JRis knees still trouble him. The Lewes Handicap, won bi Taris, was worth .£IOOO. Bombshell was shipped to London by the Rim%taka. King's Bowman is again in work. Hova has retired from the turf and is standing at 25 guineas. Golden Fleece ran second to Actress in the 15hds Handicap at Kensington last month. The daughter of Stonyhurst and Golden Crest is evidently returning to her New Zealand form. v
