SEVERE FROSTS. THE NEWCASTLE STRIKE. VICTORIAN REVENUE RETURNS Sydney, July 4. Very severe frosts in the northern districts have severely damaged the sugar crops. The loss on the banks of the Richmond river is estimated at £20,000. A conference between the coal mine owners and the miners will be held on Monday. The owners have determined to uphold the recent ultimatum.*# The masters will in future deal only with miners employed in individual colleries. Melbourne, -Inly 4. The annual returns give the revenue at £6-39,000 and the expenditure at £52-3,000. The Savings Bank deposits have decreased by £*3,000 and the withdrawals increased by £12,000. The number of withdrawals exceeded d-posits by '28,487.
