County By-laws.
Tri following amendments ot existing County by-laws ware agreed to at the last meeting of the County Council By-law 8, clause 4.—A pedlar shall mean and include any trader who travels on toot from place to place with a pack, basket wheelbarrow, truck or other vehicle drawn or propelled by manual labour only for the purpose ot selling goods, merchandise, or wares, except bread, miat. fruit, vegstabter» dairy produce or temperance drinks. The word “ Hawker ” shall mean and include any trader travelling with a horse, male, or wheeled vehicle, drawn or propelled by snah animals, for the parpose of selling goods, merchandise, or wares, excepting bread, meat, fruit, vegetables, dairy produce or temps rente drinks.
By-law B.—Every person shall oat down or destroy any variegated thistles found growing upon lands in his occupation, or owned by him but unoccupied. Tha coifing or destroying shall ba done a' it th seasons as shall prevent the formation of the fiover. Any officer ot the Council may at any boor of tha daytime enter upon any lands for the parpose of ascertaining whether t iis l y-law ia being complied with, and such officer shall not thereby be deemal guilty of trespass. Any person neglecting to destroy the variegated thistles upon his l n Is shall be liaNe to a penalty of £6 for each offence.
