MOSCOW UNIVERSITY CLOSED. London, December 15. The Moscow Univarsity has been closed owing to ebbtififled rioting by the studentsTHE SUGAR BOUNTIES. The Sugar Bounties Conference have had under their discussion the report of the subcommittee charged to consider the teolmlos) question. In the report the sub-committee express their opinion that It la possible to arrange for a settlement of the fiscal difficulty touching the refining of sugar, and recommend taking refined sugar as the gross oondimption. The Conference referred the report to th'e Various Cabinets, and It is hoped that an agreement will bs arrived at.
AGITATION FOB PROTECTION. In the course of a speech Mr Gowhen said the present agitation for Protection is the work of a party desirous of disturbing the Unionist and Conservative Alliance. VISCOUNT CANTERBURY. A receiveng order has been made against Viscount Canterbury for non-compliance of bankruptcy. ♦ TRAFALGAR SQUARE RIOTS. The immediate burial of Lennel, the rioter who succumbed to the injuries he received in the riots in Trafalgar Square, has been directed by the authorities to prevent a public funeral on Sunday. THE NEW GOLD DISCOVERY. The lode discovered near Dalgeti is 200 feet wide, and should prdddqs a million a year. It is believed that similar deposits eiist In Ireland. EMBEZZLEMENT OF £12,000. General Willoughby, formerly Ambassador in London for Madagascar, has been sent to gaol on that Island for having embeszled £12,000, the property of the Government. FISHERY CONCESSIONS.
Canada, in return for being granted a free importation of fish into the United States, offers the latter large fishery concessions. AUSTRIAN MILITARY COUNCIL.
The Australian Military Council have again met at Vienna.
