The Majeroni Company.
The world-famed artistes forming this Company will make their first appearance in Gisborne on Thursday next. The Press throughout Australia and New Zealand have been most enthusiastic over the production of Fedora The Sydney Morning Herald says that the drama is a model of construction* its plot intelligible from the first scene, constantly developing fresh interest, and worked up to a most powerful climax, and the dialogue is bright and epigrammatic. The plot is a succession of tragedies interspersed with treachery and deceit; but it is full of a furious fascination which grows upon one, and the characters are so unconventional that each one is a study in itself. In describing the acting of Signora Majeroni, as Fedora, the Herald says that anything finer than her treacherous dalliance with Ipanoffi, the voice breathing love while the eyes dart hate and the lust for blood, could scarcely be imagined ; while the last act is almost indescribaole, so full is it of interest. Fedora being a wealthy princess, naturally dresses well, and the costumes are not only costly, but works of art. Signor Majeroni has made a suberb Study of the part of Count Ipanoff.
