(own correspondent.) Wellington, last night. The Post says that the Government will propose not to renew the San Francisco mail service. The Post has a leader on Mr Bees’ scheme, giving the substance of his memo. Mr Rees nas written to the Government proposing that it should devote half a million acres on the East Coast to special settlements on the co-operative principle, and that 100 acres be given free to every settler who had £lOO to spend on improvements.
