A VERDICT OF ACCIDENTAL DEATH. A CENSURE BY THE JURY. THE FEELING ON THE QUESTION, London, September 28,
The enquiry in connection with the o*u*e of the death of the Exeter fire victim* wa* concluded on the 21« t, when the last witness was examined and the jury were left to eon. aider their verdict. After a short delay a verdict of " Accidental Death ” was returned, a rider being added passing a severe oensurs upon the magistrates of the city and th* architect who designed the building. Several eminent architects were called upon to give evidence, and generally condemned the con* atiuction not only of the building in which the ffre occurred, but also 0! others within the city. The Times warns th* authoriti** of the danger of allowing the bar* possibility of another such calamity, and the public mind has been considerably stirred in the matter. Even the Exeter Theatre was previously considered sufficiently free in css* of a Art alarm.
