Meeting of Creditors.

S. M. WILSON. A rowdy meeting. Air adjodfiieti meeting of S. M. Wilson's creditors was Held do Thursday. Twentythree were present, . The evidence taken at the previous meeting was read. In answer to Mr Crawford, the debtor deposed: The four-wheeled dog-cart belonged to Miss E, Biohardson. I bought it for her at Napier with her money. The trap in question is now, I believe, in Mr Brassey's fiossession. I gave the trap, with Miss Richardson’s consent, to Mr Brassey for seri.oes tendered, as I had no money. The account as shown in my ledger as being due from Mr Brassey (£3l de) is correct. I have had no account from Mr Brassey lately, and do not know what I owe him. The coal Which I carted away fro— the scene of the late fire waS carted up to Gregson’s house. To my knowledge there were no clothes, at the time of the fire, at Mrs Campbell's. I did not instruct any man to take any clothes to Mrs Campbell's. I have no horses at Woodbine Johnson’s. Whatever horses I have there belong to Mr Bell. The iron eaie belonged to my wife for ten years. I have kept no cash book. I banked all monies I took every day, sometimes twice. The bookkeeper posted the amounts received direct into the ledger. My wife bought the small phaeton about tour and a-half years ago. It was bought in Dunedin. She gave me the , money to pay for it. The money was her , own, given to her by her father. Everything ■ saved from the fire was sold except those things claimed by people who owned them. AU the things taken to my house were sold , by auction. I think Mr G. Stubbs came to ■ my house to take the articles away two or three days after the fire. I never put the things in the house. The Insurance people ] viewed the goods a day or so after the fire. ' My wife had the key of the house. I could ■ot say whether the house was full or not, as I never paid any attention, To Mr Stubbs : Mr Bell stated that he had received £5OO more than you (Mr Stubbs) had told me in Gisbome. To Mr Batclifle : I saw some harness in the street. I saw a lot ot harness sold by auction. The harness that was in my house at Palmerston Road, was, I believe, taken away by B. Little, for Mr. Stubbs, and went into the Lowe Street Stables. There was no case of saddlery saved from the fire out of ' my offices. To Mr Brassey : All invoices and receipts ' were burnt in the fire. I think' an account 1 came in from you. I bought a buggy from ' Mr Fraser for £3O, which I have never paid for. No coals, through me, have been sent ’ to Mr Brassey, I never sold a case of saddlery in February, nor removed one either. I think three ledgers were burnt in the fire. After some discussion Mr Crawford moved, and Mrßatclifie seconded—- “ That in the opinion of this meeting thera is strong ground to believe that the Bankrupt has not rendered a true statement of goods in his possession at the time of his filing ; and has concealed part of his effects from the Assignee ; and that the Assignee be instructed to take evidence, with a view ot ascertaining where all the goods saved from the fire have been removed to; and to take prompt measures to recover the said goods tor the benefit of the creditors.” At this stage of the proceedings personalities Were freely exchanged between some of the creditors present, and, as the Assignee had on previous occasions intimated that he would close the proceedings were such conduct again resorted to, be declared the meeting closed. The motion was therefore not put. THE TATE ST BANKRUPTCY. The first meeting of creditors in the eststa Of James Comiskey, contractor, will bo held OU Thursday, June 23. The liabilities are set down at £69 11b, and the assets (book debts) £2 19s. The following is a list of.the creditors :■■■
