It professes Liberalism and Radicalism in the noblest and best sense of tbe terms. We Iwish the new journal every success. Hastings Evxkiso Stab. We have received tbe first number of • tri-weekly paper published at Gisborne, called the Gisbobnb Stamdabo and Cool County GazbtTb. and judging from the ex. oallent display of advertisements we should imagine our young contemporary has already found favor in the eyes of the public, From a literary point of view the paper to well got up, and reflects the greatest credit on the proprietor, " Wawawa Maa. We have received the first issne of the Gisbobnb Standabd— we are glad to see that the proprietor has dropped the " Poverty and can only say that if succeeding numbers are up to the “ Standard ” before ua, the good folks of Gisborne should feel proud of the latest addition to the number of their pepere.
