School Committee.
A srxciAL meeting of the School Committee was held on Wednesday last. Present 1— Messrs Johnston (Chairman), W. Morgan, Hall, Cannon and Taylor. The Chairman explained that he had called the meeting to make provieion tor fill ing the position rendered vacant by the death of Mrs Bull. The Head-master, Mr T. Morgan, attended the meeting, and suggested that Miss Dawson and Miss Evans should be promoted, and that the services 0! another female teacher be procured. It was moved by Mr Johnson, seconded by. Mr Hal, and agreed to " That Miss Dawson be recommended to the Board for appointment as Head-mistress vice Mrs Bull, deceased, and Miss Evans as first Assistant Mistress, and that the Board be asked to advertise, especially in Dunedin, for a second Assistant Mistress.”
Resolved that the Board be asked to sane, tion the appointment of two probation ns to assist in the school work, pending the ay, pointment of a second mistress. It was also unanimously resolved that a letter of condolence be sent to Mr Bull, and to the late Mrs Bull's relatives.
