DRUID’S JUBILEE BALL.
Ths preparations for the above Jubilee Ball, which takes place on Monday evening next, are now almost completed, and we are assured by those in charge of the arrangements that the Ball will be something to be Ong remembered In Gisborne. The large number of tickets already disposed of, and the aooeptanse of invitations by the ladies, is quite sufficient to tax the Committee's powers to the utmost. The catering and Refreshments will be attended [to In partioulari and will allow of no MBN for complaint in this direction,' find the Cort!, , , mittee have determined to give their special attention to the preparation of the floor, which is indeed the moat important factor in the true enjoyment of a Ball. As regards the comfort of dancers, the floor on this occasion will be waxed and finished in a manner now to Gisborne, and the ladies' need not fear lot their costumes; as then will be no dust what* ever, ho chalk being used. We Mn therefore recommend the Jubilee Ball to all those whd desire a pleasant and enjoyable evening at t fitting tetmlnltion to the day of her Majesty’s Jubilee.
THE PROGRAMME.
For the benefit of the many ladies and gentlemen who will "trip it merrily " next Monday at Parnoll’a Hall wo print the programme. "Spoons” can thereby make their special engagements. They ought to thank the Standard for its forethought. Mr Harvy, the well known local musician, provides the music, and the very fact of hie being connected with this part of the arrangement may be a guarantee for tbe music being properly played and every satisfaction given to the dancers.
