MELBOURNE, Oct 5. Miss Muriel Heagney told the Federal Arbitration Court, during basic wage proceedings that men’s prejudices against women’s low rates of pay, met opposition from Mr Justice Dunphy. Giving evidence in support of a claim for equal wages for men and women, Miss Pleagney said women were at a disadvantage in dealing with employers.

Mr Justice Dunphy: Has any work been done by any organisation of females to prepare a case for equal pay for women.? Miss Heagney: I could not tell you off-hhnd.
