Britain’s Meat Glut
LONDON, October 4.
For the third successive week, Londoners are not likely to get the sixpenny meat bonus promised by the Government. Ti'hs is because of ago slow by porters demanding more pay for handling the extra meat. The Food Ministry fears there is a risk of fresh meat ging bad while the go slow lasts and meat is now being diverted from the London market to the provinces. Only frozen meat from the Argentine and New Zealand is reaching London.
