Miss D. Blair, secretary of the Greymouth Harbour Board, who recently completed a lengthy service with the board was congratulated by the chairman (Mr F. Williams) at last night’s monthly meeting of the board. Members commented on the outstanding service Miss Blair had given during a long term.

Mr Ivan Culpan, former secretary to the Auckland Rugby League, was presented last evening with a silver tray in recognition of his services to visiting Sydney teams. The presentation was made by Mr H. Flegg, president of the Australian Rugby League. Mr Flegg said that the representatives of six clubs which had previously played and the followers of the code in Sydney in Auckland desired to be associated with the presentation.—Fress Assn.

The first holder of the Tom French Cup, the handsome trophy given by a Sydney Rugby enthusiast, Mr John Morris, at the end of the Maori team’s visit to Australia this year, is J. B. Smith, captain of Northland, North Island. The award was made by N.Z.R.F.U. executive on the recommendation of the chairman of the New Zealand selection committee, Mr N. A. McKenzie. _The cup was presented for annual allocation to the outstanding Maori rugby playei of the year. It will be held by the Northland Union, and Smith will keep a replica of it. —P.A.
