The lowest recorded temperature in the United States was 66 degrees fahrenheit below zero at Riverside Ranger Station, Wyoming, in 1933. The highest temperature was recorded in Death Valley, California, in 1913 —134 degrees Fahrenheit. Highest and lowest temperatures receded anywhere on earth are: 136 degrees F. at Azizia, Libya, North Africa, in 1922, and 90 degrees F. below zerq at Verhoyansk, Siberia, in 1892.
