Rand Gold Value Doubled Since Devaluation
(Rec. 10.10). LONDON, October 4. An Associated Press correspondent at Johannesburg says: The total profits of the Rand gold mines have more than doubled in September, as compared with August, because of the sterling devaluation. The September returns show that the total profits were £4,584,245 sterling, compared with £2,505,155 sterling in August.
