SOVIET PUTS NAZIS ON TOP IN ITS ZONE

BERLIN, Feb. 22 The British Military Government alleged that former prominent Nazis held leading positions in the Soviet zone industry’ and politics. The British accusations were made in an official statement denying the accusations by the Russian deputy commandant in Berlin, Colonel Yelisarov, that the Western Powers were sabotaging Berlin denazification.

The British statement said that such criticisms should ‘begin nearer home.” The British statement pointed out that Professor Herbert Sedlaczek, to whom Hitler gave the title of “War Economics Leader” for his work in Nazi war production, was now works director ol the biggest ironworks in the Soviet zone. The statement added that Gestapo Liles showed that Ernst Loliagen, president of the Commun-ist-dominated Socialist Unity Party in Saxony, had been a gestapo agent.
