Mr J. Bowden, of Westport, was a recent visitor here to his daughter ..and son-in-law, Mr and Mrs A. MacGregor. Miss O’Shea, Plunket Nurse, visited the township in Thursday. Mrs J. Whisker is on a holiday visit to Denniston with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr and Mrs Lightbrown.
Miss Amy Evans left on return, to Sanson, last week-end after spending the term holidays with her parents Mr and Mrs H. Evans.
Mr J. Lavery has returned from a visit to Wellington in connection with a conference of the Picture Exhibitors’ Association.
Mrs M. Berdinner and family have returned from a holiday spent at Mokihinul.
Mr and Mrs N. Stack were recent visitors to Christchurch.
Mrs S. Lowery and son left on return to Nelson on Tuesday after a ho?day spent here with Mr and Mrs J. Fitzsimmons.
' Mr J. Bartholomew of Wellington, was a visitor to the township last week-end.
The sad news of the death of Mrs M- Hunter which took place in the Buller Hospital on Thursday, was received with deep regret by the residents. Mrs Hunter and her late husband, Mr M. Hunter, with their son, Mr A. Hunter (Timaru), and Mrs Chippendale (Stockton), took up residence here over 30 years ago and were highly respected citizens. The sympathy of all goes out to them in their bereavement.
