At a meeting of the Friends of the Hospital, held at the home of the President, Mrs Coombes, when there was a moderate attendance of members, several resignations were accepted with regret. The President farewelled Mrs Evans, on the eve of her departure, stating that she would be missed by the Society for her help and advice. Mrs Evans, who was presented with a posy, suitably re-, plied. The Matron of the Grey Hos-: pital told of the closing of Hannan; Ward, owing to shortage of staff, and. ways and means of helping were con-i sidered. The ranks of the Society arc •much depleted, and the need is for! younger' members. Miss Moffatt ex-'l pressed gratitude to those who were! helping. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the hostess. |
