In the first reading of the stations at the Methodist Conference in Wellington, the following Ministers were entered as first selections for West Coast circuits (present Ministers in parentheses):—Greymouth, Rev. E. S. Hoddinott (Rev. A. A. Bensley); Westport. Rev. H. G. Brown (Rev. EH. Kendon).

As the result of an accident, at the Dobson Mine yesterday, when he fell from a ladder, John Charles Bateman, aged 31 years, married a miner, of Edwin Street, Blackball, received injuries to his face. He was attended to by Dr. Kent, of Brunner, after which he was conveyed to the Grey River Hospital. His condition last evening was reported to be satisfactory.

In connection with the Hollywood Parade being held in the Regent Theatre to-night, all 'buses will be delayed.—Advt.

At least some patriotic parcels sent by the women of Greymouth are reaching their destinations in Egypt. Two local soldiers, Privates R. Minchin, of Greymouth, and F. Bruning, of Westport, have advised relatives that they had received a parcel each from Mrs. Millar (Cobden) and Mrs. Dennehy (Greymouth) respectively. Both expressed much pleasure at the contents of the parcels and stated that letters thanking the donors were on their way.

The Greymouth-Christchurch rail service was nearly four hours behind schedule yesterday, as the result of the derailment of a goods train near Aylesbury, about 22 miles from Christchurch. Passengers and mai s on the Christchurch-Greymouth railcar had to bg transferred to a steam train at the scene of the mishap, and as a consequence they did not arrive at Greymouth until 10.45 a.m. The accident * occurred in the early hours of the morning. The Grey-mouth-Christchurch goods train was also held up, but the ChristchurchGreymouth goods train was not affected. Later in the morning, trains were taken through the loop-line at the scene of the trouble, and the •Christchurch - Greymouth express was only about 20 minutes late when it came through the loop.. A railcar was brought to Greymouth yesterday afternoon and took over the evening service to Christchurch.
