TEHERAN? Sept. 8. I The Germans have apparently,
abandoned hope of escaping from Iran after several unsuccessful attempts. A party which tried to elude the Russians and cross into Turkey has now returned to Teheran. Other 'Germans who set out for Isfahan, south of Teheran, on foot, in an effort to avoid the police, were brought back in a car sent by the German Legation, which also sent a car for two Germans who headed for the hills, hoping to hold out “until the German Army arrives through the Caucasus.”
