LEAGUE FOOTBALL

MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. There were present at last evening’s meeting of the West Coast Rugby League. .Messrs P. Blanchfield/Jnr. (President), J. Kidd, J. J. Anisv, W. Meates, B. Ramsay, A. Kyle, W. P. Moore, H. Ba'ssett, J'. E. Stokes. A. A. Fielding and P. E. Sweetman (Secretary). A letter was received from the Canterbury Rugby League Referees Association, advising that six representatives would arrive in Greymouth on Sunday for the conference of referees. Mr. J. F. McKenzie, Reefton, advised that he would attend the conference, and was willing to referee a game in the afternoon. An anplication for reinstatement was received from J. Newton, Blackball. It was decided that it be forwarded to the New Zealand Council with a favourable recommendation.

The Sydenham Club wrote asking for a repl}' to their challenge to play the winners of the Thacker Shield Competition. The Secretary said that he had replied to the Canterbury Union. Mr. Moore, reporting for the Junior Advisory Board, said that only two fourth grade teams from Christchurch could play at Greymouth next Sunday owing to lack of transport to the country grounds. Mr. Ramsay moved that all junior fixtures be cancelled on Sunday, Mr. Stokes seconding. Mr. Fielding moved an amendment that Blackball and Seaview be given the option of playing at Ngahere, . and that Runanga and Brunner have the option of playing at Brunner. The Chairman seconded the amendment, which was carried. The Chairman said that the League had completed its series of visits to the Clubs with its visit to Kumara last week. A successful meeting had been held. One point brought up was suggested that if, in future, a team to play Kumara at Kumara defaulted, the next game be played at Kumara. SUNDAY’S FIXTURES.
