AN EXPLANATION.

[To the Editor] Sir,—Allow me to express satisfaction that Mr. Smeaton has removed any misapprehension as to there being either next-of-kin or estate in the case of the late Charles Bromley, whose death was the subject of a report at last meeting of the Hospital Board. As a matter of fact, in the record of the death made on December 5 with the Registrar (a copy of which I have), it is stated tnere was no next-of-kin. I worked with deceased, and can prove he had no relatives in New Zealand.—l am, etc., M. GIBBENS, Blaketown.
