N.Z. CASUALTY

[Per Press Association] WELLINGTON, December 12. The following air casualty was announced to-night: — Acting-Sergeant W. D. L. Cole, R.N.Z.A.F., is seriously ill with mastoiditis. His father is Mr. H. L. Cole, 27 Everton Terrace, Kelburn, Wellington. BADGE FOR SERGEANT PILOTS. WELLINGTON, December 12. New Zealand-trained sergeant pilots or the Royal New Zealand Air Force have been issued with a new and distinctive cloth shoulder badge, which immediately identifies their land of origin. Above the Royal Air Force eagle appear the words “New Zealand” in broad blue letters. The whole badge is similar to that worn by Polish pilots with the Royal Air Force.
