Apparently possessed of boundless energy, an/ instructor at the No. 2 Elementary Flying Training School not only walked to the North Egmont Hostel from Bell Block (says the Taranaki Herald), but on the following morning climbed to the summit as well. Except for a lift for four miles, the instructor, Corporal Themayne, walked the whole distance., He left about 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday and reached his destination shortly after 7 p.m. At least six babies were born on Thursday, February 29, in Auckland and are destined to celebrate their birthdays only once in four years. Four are girls and two boys, three being born in the city, one in Devonport, one at Ellerslie,' and the other at Hdwick. The six children may look forward to their first birthday in 1944.
