The weather report is as follows;— General situation: A slight disturbance is located across the South Island. but pressure remains high over the New Zealand area, with an anticyclone centred to the east. Forecast: Winds, north-easterlies or northerlies predominating, strong in the central areas about Cook Strait; elsewhere, mainly light to fresh. Seas in Nev/ Zealand waters rough about Cook Strait; moderate to rather rough south of Cape Egmont; elsewhere slight. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate, but gradually freshening northerly winds, seas slight to moderate in the northern portion, and rather rough in the southern. Weather for the most part fair to fine; cloudy and unsettled in Westland, with rain at times, and there ls;a possibility also of some . scattered light rain in th# eastern areas south of Kaikoura. Temperatures mild;
