To-day’s Fields and Prospects The Canterbury Jockey Club’s Cup meeting will be continued at Riccarton to-day, when smaller fields than cn the two previous days will be engaged. The principal event, the Canterbury Cup has drawn six acceptors and on their recent form Royal Chief and Beaupartir appear ro have the best prospects. The New Zealand Oaks for three-year-old fillies will see nine starters, most prominent amongst whom should be Winning Rival, Anita Foe and Authoress The weather was fine in Christchurch last evening and the indications are that the track will be hard and fast to-day.
