TICKLING FISH

PROHIBITORY REGULATION. WELLINGTON, August 24. The taking of any fish by an unsportsmanlike method not involving the use of any device, or by any means other than rod and line, together with landing net or gaff used to land fish taken with rod and line, is prohibited by an amendment to the Fresh Water Fisheries’ Regulations, 1936, issued with to-night’s Gazette. In brief, it is explained that this prohibits the taking of fish by the method known as "tickling.”
