STATE AID SOUGHT
MANAWATU FLOOD DAMAGE. PARLIAMENT BLDGS., August 24. When the House met at 2.30, Hon. Cobbe, in an urgent question to the Acting-Prime Minister, asked if 1 ■it were the Government’s intention to have an investigation made into the ( loss and the damage caused by the recent Manawatu floods, with a view to the Government granting special assistance to those who suffered as a result. Hon. Fraser, replying, said that the Government would be pleased to make such an investigation with a view to deciding whether special assistance was necessary.
