Andersons, Ltd., earned a net profit of £ll 973 in the year ended March 31, 1937. compared with' £11,766 for the previous period. Final dividends of 21 per making 5 per cent, per annum, are recommended on preference and ordinary shares.
The profit of £11,973 gives, with £729 brought forward, a total of £12.702 available, less interim dividends paiu in November. After payment of final’ dividends and transfers to reserves, £1162 is left to be carried forward. The directors of Swan Brewery have declared a dividend of -6d a share'on the 5g shares in the company, in addition to 'a bonus of 3d a share. Prestige, New Zealand, Ltd., will be paying a dividend, at the rate of 6 pet cent per annum, on the preference share's in the -company, for the six months* ended March 31, 1937. DUNEDIN. May .3. The directors of the Dominion Fertiliser Co., Ltd., recommend a dividend at the rate of 5 per cent., free of exchange, for the year ended March 31. The dividend will be payable on June 9. : .
TIMARU, March 3. Last season a fair market for surplus .South Canterbury potatoes was found in the Argentine, and a number of shipments left Timaru. and 750 tons will be shipped on. the New Zealand Shipping Company’s Hororata, which arrives here on Tuesday.
The potatoes are being packed in special open-work bags, and when stocked in the hold, care will be taken to ensure an adequate air circulation between the layers. This is done in order that the potatoes will arrive in the same condition as when they left Timaru. This shipment is expected to be the first of a number this season, as indications ar e that there will be a large crop i n the district. The shipments will have the effect of preventing a glut on the market, which would result in a drop in prices. RUGBY, April 30.
